After
nearly nineteen years as a senior pastor in WV, Bob relocated in
2004 to Wake Forest, NC, where he now serves as an assistant
professor of biblical counseling at Southeastern Baptist
Theological Seminary. He graduated from The King's College
(B.A.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.Div.), and
Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (D.Min. in
Pastoral Counseling.
In addition to his
professorial duties, Bob serves as an adjunct instructor
(presenting The Peacemaker Seminar), certified Christian
conciliator, and conflict intervention team leader and trainer
with Peacemaker Ministries; as a certified biblical counselor
and adjunct instructor with NANC, a national training and
certifying organization for biblical counselors; and as an
adjunct professor at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
in Louisville, KY. He formerly served as an adjunct trainer with
the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. As an
active member of Open Door Baptist Church in Raleigh he
ministers as an adult teacher/trainer, internship instructor,
care group leader, and director of biblical counseling
(part-time staff).
Bob has written Uprooting
Anger: Biblical Help for a Common Problem; five ministry
booklets, Angry at God?, Forgiveness, Bad Memories, After
Adultery, and Single Parents (forthcoming 2008); and more than a
dozen articles or book reviews for the Journal of Biblical
Counseling. He also presents peacemaking, marriage, parenting,
and counseling-related seminars; speaks at conferences; and
assists churches in conflict intervention.
Bob and Lauren, his wife of
24 years, reside in north Raleigh with their two teenage sons,
Tim and Dan.
